Writing


LAVA NARRATIVE: DAY 1

  1. Check out this picture. What do you see? Can you describe the emotions of the volcano on this day?Happy ,excited ,joyful ,delighted and overwhelmed with joy .
  2. Continue your story from yesterday, and be sure to include the descriptions your class came up with in your writing today.

There was Once a small and isolated island where this young beautiful , smart and coruis girl lived. She was known as Ava she was the daughter Alina (the god of the land ).One day Ava was walking across her island that she was born on (Hawaii ).While she was walking across the beach at Hawaii she saw the  volcano she was told that only people who are related to a god can talk to the volcano.Ava went to the volcano she found out the volcano's name was Solomn although he was very happy he was very lonely on the inside .He would watch all the happy couples playing on the beach and having fun , as he would just use his  imagination  that he had someone that he can play with .Ava would see Solomn be happy but she would notice that he is really lonely on the inside.Ava had a idea since her birthday was coming up she got to have whatever she wanted.A few weeks went past and then it was her birthday.Ava had the birthday of a lifetime then she got to chose one thing she wanted this year.Ava said loud and proud to her mum  ( Alina )”I want you to make a girl version of solomn “.Ava hoped she did the right thing as a friend to Solomn. Her mum said “ are you sure Ava? “.Ava said “ yes” Her mum made a girl version of Solomn everyone called her Samantha.Samantha and Solomn became best friends and had the best life ever until Solomn started to sink.Until one day he fully sunk and was never to be seen until.Samantha would always remember the song Solomn  would sing to her , she would sing it everyday.Until Solomn started to grow again and then Samantha had her best friend back and they would sing the song everyday so it would stop them from sinking , and they lived happily ever after.

Task description :For this task we had to read a text book about clown doctors.Next we had to answer all the questions and write what we know about that thing.Then we made a poster about becoming a clown doctor.This task was very interesting and fun to do, I liked learning about clown doctors.

Task description:For this task we had to get a picture of our favourite inspirational quote or bible verse.Then we had to write down why it is important to you.My bible verse was "For with God nothing shall be impossible"Luke 1:37.On the last slide I wrote why it is important to me and why it is my Favourite bible verse.

Maths

Walt:About different 2d shapes.

Task description:For this task we had to complete the fast facts .Then we  had to get pictures of different 2d shapes but we were not allowed to do 2d shapes like circle or square we had to do a more complex shape.Next we had eight squares that have a 9 dots then we had to see how much of the shape that it says we can make.Then on the next slide there was a table and we had to write the information about the shape that you made.

Task description:For this task we got given a challenge to complete from Nina.We had to meditate for 3-5 minutes and our class meditated for 3 minutes.We all had to think about our thoughts and our emotions.

Science

Research about ~ Alexandra Dempsey

What does she do as a scientist ? She finds information about a place and she finds
out the best spots to find certain things. She also takes photos of things she finds interesting
and studies about it .


When she was young she loved going to the beach and finding things (shells, sea animals ,etc)
and she always wanted to know all about the things she found at the beach.She has also wanted
to be a marine biologist her whole life.


In high school she focused on math and science she loved to join classes that all involve science.


Her two people that she looks up to for  inspiration are Sylvia Earle and Dr Eugenie Clark.


How did she become a scientist ? She was working there as a volunteer and when they saw
her work and what she could do they offered her the job and she accepted it and that is how she
became a marine biologist


Her advice was that the more experience you have and the harder you work is how you
get your dream job .She said "the harder you work the more missions you go on".


What is rewarding for her as a scientist? She gets to have her dream job and she loves her job.


Next we watched a video in a article 
About students who had to do a experiment in Wellington 


The first group of students did an experiment to see if the size or weight changed the length of how
far the ball went.


The next group of students did an experiment to see which cloth absorbed the bacteria
called Salmonella the chux yellow cloth got rid of most of the bacteria on the egg.


Lastly the last student did an experiment to see if your personality changes you blood pressure.
He made about 70 people do a personality survey.

Walt:Describe the qualities of 2D shapes

Task description:For this task we had to watch a interesting video about 2D shapes.It explained different types of 2D shapes and different types of names for the 2d shapes.Next we had to write timetables and word problems we found hard.

Task description :For this task we had to write about someone who is kind funny and cool . I chose my sister and my two close cousins.This is also one of the taha challanges

Great Barrier reef

Task description: For this task we had to read a book about Great barrier reef .After we read the book about great barrier reef we had to write why is using to much electricity bad.Then lastly we had to write a blurb (a short summery of a book ).

New Norm

What is different from before ?
  1. We have our own desk
  2. We have our own place to put our stuff under our desk
  3. We can only has 20 people on the park at a time
  4. We have to stay 1 meter apart
  5. We sanitize often
  6.  We can’t wander around as much we have to stay at our own desk
  7. We have our lunch in our tray under our desk
  8. We finish school at 2:30
  9. We don’t get to play before school we have to come to school and do our word search under our desk
  10. When we get sports equipment we have to sanitize our hands before we touch the sports gear
  11. We have to stay in our maths class instead of our home class
  12. We don’t have sports games for P.E instead we have dancing 
  13. We talk to our literacy teachers online with headphones
